I’m listing this one again because I think it fits well in this category, too–even the nurse who has everything would love it!  Nightingale Express boxes are wonderfully curated!  There are various boxes to choose from, as well as individual products, so there is something for everyone and every budget.  Not only that, but there is a box geared toward male nurses, who are historically left out of a lot of nurse-themed items.
A unique gift I have received and given as a gift many times, is the Humanity Bracelet. It can be purchased in pewter, sterling or gold. It has seven, two sided links with the virtues: Loyalty, Unity, Passion, Joy, Kindness, Humor, Hope, Courage, Love, Trust, Honor, Family, Truth and Charity engraved on the links. 'Google' Humanity Bracelet for a variety of sites. The bracelet is a unique keepsake.

The best retirement gift will depend on the recipient's interests and personality as well as your relationship. You might look for a keepsake or ornament, or a book that offers personal, legal or financial guidance on navigating the next stage of their life. Another approach is to buy them something they can use for a hobby or interest they'll now have more time for, such as golf. Movies also make great retirement gifts.

Theresa Brown, RN, has been a favorite nurse author of mine for a long time. She is a frequent contributor in the New York Times and American Journal of Nursing, and in 2011, wrote Critical Care: A New Nurse Faces Death, Life, and Everything in Between. In The Shift, Miss Brown takes the reader through her full 12-hour shift in a busy oncology unit. In addition to learning about the patients she cares for with such knowledge and skill during this shift, what strikes me is how Miss Brown illuminates her decision-making. We know that as nurses, critical thinking comes with experience, yet Miss Brown truly explains how she prioritizes care without the reader even realizing that is what’s happening. Read the book – you’ll see what I mean! This will make a perfect gift for hospital nurses who understand just how  much can happen in one 12-hour shift.  ">
We first started using this when my daughter was 3 months old and around 12lbs. I had high hopes for this suit and was very disappointed when it didnt make a bit of difference to her sleep and I thought I'd wasted $40. My husband pointed out that it was huge on her and that it should prob be snug to make her feel like shes being held so I put it away and tried again a month later. At 4months and around 14lbs this suit helped somewhat with her sleep. Not a magic suit but still there was a marked improvement in her sleep on the nights she wore the suit. My daughter is now 5 months old and 16lbs and she sleeps great in this suit! Without the suit on she rolls on her stomach to sleep which worries me but in ... full review ">

We touched on the importance of nurses taking care of their feet a bit earlier, and while compression socks can help, nothing plays a bigger role in protecting your feet than shoes do. Obviously, different nurses prefer different styles. Some prefer athletic shoes they can tie, while others prefer something more along the lines of slip-ons and clogs. This is entirely a matter of opinion, but for our money, we have found Dankso to be the most desirable footwear brand for nurses. Their combination of comfort, support, and style is tough to beat. If you want to get a nurse a pair of shoes they will really appreciate, look no further than Dansko. ">
On a nurse’s busiest days they can end up walking miles and miles—give them the gift of being able to track that exercise! In such a demanding career, it can be difficult to factor in time for working out but a wearable device such as FitBit allows you to track how much activity you have actually done during the day. It also tracks your sleep and lets the nurse in your life monitor their own health data and stay motivated with their health.
Nurses: they’ve been saving lives, taking pulses and caring for others since the beginning of time. A busy nurse won’t have had much time for new experiences. So give her a gift that brings plenty of them. She may not yet have any definite plans for her retirement, so introduce her to some possible options. Would she relish the chance to learn to fly? Does she long to become a salsa dancer? Does travel to an exotic country feature in her future plans? Sign her up for some foreign language classes. Retirement is also going to bring her plenty of time to enjoy leisurely lunches, so buy her some gift coupons for her favorite restaurants or coffee shops.

NRSNG Academy’s Fundamentals course is the course you’ll definitely want to have for your first semester of nursing school! We introduce the Nursing Process and how to start thinking like a nurse. Jon Haws RN began his nursing career at a Level I Trauma ICU in DFW working as a code team nurse, charge nurse, and preceptor. Frustrated with the nursing education process, Jon started NRSNG in 2014 with a desire to provide tools and confidence to nursing students around the globe. When he's not busting out content for NRSNG, Jon enjoys spending time with his two kids and wife. ">
In addition to the traditional gifts of stethoscopes and pen lights, here are a few of my favorite items that you may want to consider gifting to the nurses in your life. This past fall I spent some time reading recent books by some of my favorite nurse authors and I really enjoyed them. I’ve also already shared my strong feelings about a certain documentary, but I have to include it here on this list too. Take a look…

Earlier this year, Nurse Blake and Nurse.org started the ‘Nurses Support Their Young’ movement to end the phrase and culture of ‘nurses eat their young.’ Together, the campaign has gained international attention and is already creating positive change within the nursing community. We hope to create a culture based on kindness, civility, and respect for many nursing generations to come. If you’d like to show your support for nurses, hoodies, mugs, posters, and pillows are available here. 100% of profit is donated to the University Nurse Camp for high school students! One of the reasons I bought these is another reviewer said the toes were loose, which was exactly what I needed. My second toe is the same length as my big toe and most socks Cause pressure and a sore nail. These socks fit loose on the end of my toe and are snug the rest of the way up my leg and so I am thrilled. They are warm which is great for winter but I doubt if I’ll wear them in the summertime. Although I have some lovely colorful ones for summer,
If you’re still not sure what the perfect gift for that particular nurse should be, you can always go with a gift card. You can do something broad like an Amazon gift card, where they can buy almost anything (including gift cards to other stores). Other fun options include Starbucks, Gas gift cards, Movie gift cards, or other food and entertainment options.
