If you’re standing for more than 6 hours per day, your legs and feet undergo a lot of physical stress. Compression socks help alleviate the strain, prevent you from swelling up and keep from blood collecting in the lower extremities. We recommend compression socks by Nurse Mates, which come in a variety of styles including Cause for a Cure, a great way for a nurse to show her moral support.
If you know the person you're buying a gift for likes to go to the theater or to other performances, buying tickets to a special event is always a nice idea. It gives the recipient something to look forward to during their newly acquired free time. Many people like to purchase these gifts if they're into giving experiences rather than regular presents.
If you’re still not sure what the perfect gift for that particular nurse should be, you can always go with a gift card. You can do something broad like an Amazon gift card, where they can buy almost anything (including gift cards to other stores). Other fun options include Starbucks, Gas gift cards, Movie gift cards, or other food and entertainment options.

Tired of the pace and noise of life near London and longing for a better place to raise their young children, Mary J. MacLeod (known to all as Julia) and her husband encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud owners of a near-derelict croft house—a farmer’s stone cottage—on “a small acre” of land. Mary assumed duties as the island’s district nurse. Call the Nurse is her account of the first enchanted years she and her family spent there, coming to know its folk as both patients and friends. ">

It’s powerful and can be customized for various types of massage including deep tissue and trigger point therapy on the neck, back, hands and face. ">
The symbolic white coat is no longer reserved for physicians! Though historically lab coats have only been worn by physicians, today more and more nurses are embracing high-quality medical lab coats to complete their professional look. With custom name and title embroidery, they can show off their nursing credentials and wear their white coat with pride. Opt for a lab coat made with performance fabrics, which will repel fluids, wick away sweat, and are generally lower-maintenance and have greater durability.
Theresa Brown, RN, has been a favorite nurse author of mine for a long time. She is a frequent contributor in the New York Times and American Journal of Nursing, and in 2011, wrote Critical Care: A New Nurse Faces Death, Life, and Everything in Between. In The Shift, Miss Brown takes the reader through her full 12-hour shift in a busy oncology unit. In addition to learning about the patients she cares for with such knowledge and skill during this shift, what strikes me is how Miss Brown illuminates her decision-making. We know that as nurses, critical thinking comes with experience, yet Miss Brown truly explains how she prioritizes care without the reader even realizing that is what’s happening. Read the book – you’ll see what I mean! This will make a perfect gift for hospital nurses who understand just how  much can happen in one 12-hour shift.
While her nursing career might not have left much free time for hobbies and other interests, a new retiree will have all the time in the world to cultivate her interests or maybe explore a new hobby. You could create a gift basket filled with hobby related items. For example, say she’s a gardener, fill a watering can with various gardening tools and equipment and throw in a few packets of seeds. If she’s a whizz in the kitchen, then some cookery books, kitchen gadgets, oven gloves, apron, tasty ingredients will be more suitable. And if you know there’s something she’s been dying to learn, then enrol her in some lessons.

This film…I could watch it over and over again! This is truly a treasure for the nursing profession. In the American Nurse Project, the director, Carolyn Jones, captures the passion of several nurses as she shares their unique stories. This year, at Nursing Management Congress, I actually got to meet Miss Jones, which was such a highlight for me. The book is on my wish list this December – I’ll keep you posted if I receive it! Think about sharing this film with all nurses who are passionate about the care they provide and the people they touch.
NRSNG Academy’s Fundamentals course is the course you’ll definitely want to have for your first semester of nursing school! We introduce the Nursing Process and how to start thinking like a nurse. There are some gifts that are a little more universal. For example, any nurse would likely appreciate a thoughtful card and a nice double walled vacuum sealed mug. I mean, who doesn’t drink water? And even if they already have one, it’s always nice to have one you can keep at home and one you can take on the go. I have 3, myself. One of the office, one for the car, and one at home.

Graduating from nursing school is a huge accomplishment that deserves to be recognized. Share your best wishes with your new RN with graduation gifts for nurses. Surprise them with a sweet treat to help celebrate the occasion or help them relax and rejuvenate with a spa set after all her hard work. Whatever your favorite nursing grad loves, you’re sure to find the best selection of personalized presents for nurses from Gifts.com.

The bigwigs where she works are sure to be planning to mark the occasion with a medal, plaque, or some other gift that acknowledges her years of service and commitment to the profession. Friends, family and colleagues can take the opportunity to create a more personalized memory of her caring career. A few weeks before her last day speak with as many people as possible and ask them to provide a story, message, poem, drawing or sentimental memento to put in a scrapbook. If there is enough time, you could make some recordings, using a smartphone or camcorder. Interview some of her colleagues, friends, patients, and family and put them all together in a home video. When she misses her life before retirement, there will be a long lasting reminder she can replay.

I don't know about unique, but some popular ones include gift certificates to local uniform shops as well as catalogs (new grads love getting all those new scrubs instead of that horrible school outfit!). Also a basket of nursey logo supplies like note cards and pens, memo pads, lanyards, name badge holders etc for those who are wrapped in the cutesy nurse doodads

One of the reasons I bought these is another reviewer said the toes were loose, which was exactly what I needed. My second toe is the same length as my big toe and most socks Cause pressure and a sore nail. These socks fit loose on the end of my toe and are snug the rest of the way up my leg and so I am thrilled. They are warm which is great for winter but I doubt if I’ll wear them in the summertime. Although I have some lovely colorful ones for summer,

Most underscrub tees are meant solely to give you an added layer of protection under your scrubs, but not this one. The Core One Underscrub Tee is as versatile as it is soft and comfortable, making this the perfect gift for the nurse who needs to seamlessly transition from the hospital, to the grocery store, and even to the gym. The buttery-soft performance fabric is lightweight and wicks away moisture, and the reinforced seams ensure that this gift will work as hard as nurses do.

Nurses love to show off their hard-earned work by using tags that say “LPN or RN, or Nurse.” Or you can get their name or something else on it. I’ve seen a lot of nurses with a personalized front tag. Some even have their license plates say something cute. You can also get nursing ornaments that hang from the rearview mirror. Just make sure the nurse is into that sort of thing first.
Nurses are on their feet for hours at a time, so it’s understandable why so many of them are rather picky when it comes to finding shoes that are comfortable and good for their feet. Yet for some reason, many of them could care less what socks they wear. Compression socks have always been great for reducing soreness and swelling, but they haven’t always been the most stylish. That’s not the case with these fun, EKG-themed socks. This is a gift that not only looks good, but it will do wonders for their feet. They’ll definitely thank you for this one. ">

Speaking from someone who is graduating on Sat- I would tell people to give her $$$$$$$$$$$$ if they want to give her something. I know it isn't very specific or unique to nurses but if she is in a similar situation as I am-she probably needs the cash! Even though I have worked all through school, I am completely broke and am praying relatives will give me cash because even though I have a job lined up -the soonest they will let me start is the 13th of may. So there you have it-a nice thoughtful card with some greenbacks would be a beautiful gift for a new grad to recieve. And maybe a gift cert-for some nice new scrubs!

After taking finals and graduating, the recent grad will likely have a lot of stress and tension built up. You could always buy them a day of relaxation. You could contact local spas, or treat them to manicure or whatever else you think they’d enjoy. Also, since they may be doing a lot of job interviews, you could always schedule them to get their hair done, and other beauty pampering. Of course, this not only applies to female grads—males would still enjoy a nice massage.
