There are some gifts that are a little more universal. For example, any nurse would likely appreciate a thoughtful card and a nice double walled vacuum sealed mug. I mean, who doesn’t drink water? And even if they already have one, it’s always nice to have one you can keep at home and one you can take on the go. I have 3, myself. One of the office, one for the car, and one at home.

Earlier this year, Nurse Blake and Nurse.org started the ‘Nurses Support Their Young’ movement to end the phrase and culture of ‘nurses eat their young.’ Together, the campaign has gained international attention and is already creating positive change within the nursing community. We hope to create a culture based on kindness, civility, and respect for many nursing generations to come. This is after wearing this sock for one hour. They’re long and reach to my knees. I’m 5’8” and have long legs. There’s also a good arch support. I have high arches and can feel the pressure from the sock. If I am on my feet AT ALL during the day, my left ankle swells. It doesn’t hurt really. Just gets ugly. (Did I mention, I’m a klutz?) I just got these today. I already love them!

I don't know about unique, but some popular ones include gift certificates to local uniform shops as well as catalogs (new grads love getting all those new scrubs instead of that horrible school outfit!). Also a basket of nursey logo supplies like note cards and pens, memo pads, lanyards, name badge holders etc for those who are wrapped in the cutesy nurse doodads
After taking finals and graduating, the recent grad will likely have a lot of stress and tension built up. You could always buy them a day of relaxation. You could contact local spas, or treat them to manicure or whatever else you think they’d enjoy. Also, since they may be doing a lot of job interviews, you could always schedule them to get their hair done, and other beauty pampering. Of course, this not only applies to female grads—males would still enjoy a nice massage.

If you know the person you're buying a gift for likes to go to the theater or to other performances, buying tickets to a special event is always a nice idea. It gives the recipient something to look forward to during their newly acquired free time. Many people like to purchase these gifts if they're into giving experiences rather than regular presents.

Cash may seem like a no-brainer, but with all of the time spent in nursing school, a new graduate will likely appreciate any money they can get their hands on. Plus, cash can buy anything, so no one will ever be disappointed with money–you’re guaranteed to get them exactly what they want. I know I was most happy with all the cash I got! Also, this is by far the easiest gift to give too.
Something cozy for the home. A soft blanket, a tea collection, candles, a really luxurious pillow -- these are all gifts that will nurture the nurturer when times get tough. Nurses work long shifts that can often be stressful and taxing; help them relax after work and fall asleep in a comforting environment. There are even gift subscription boxes for things like candles and tea, allowing you to make relaxation a monthly present. Help your nurse’s home become a retreat after a long day spent selflessly serving others.

There's books designed especially for the new nurse, quick reference guides and such: maybe a gift certificate to a large bookstore with a card that tells her to buy such a book for herself? Better than choosing the wrong one, and I love when someone has thought enough to tell me that's what they want for me, and I should choose A friend did that for me specifically for NON-nursing books: she said I had spent so long staring at textbooks, the Barnes and Noble giftcard was ONLY to be used on paperback fiction! Loved that.
As any nurse knows, the amount of “stuff” that piles up in your bag seems to never end. From medical gear to car keys, there is a lot that nurses lug back and forth between work and home. This bag is made specifically for nurses, with plenty of pockets and compartments that allow for easy organization, along with a water resistant fabric and heavy duty zippers to withstand the wear and tear that comes with the job.

When I am searching for a truly unique gift for someone, Etsy is always my first stop. I love the fact that most of the items are handmade and one of a kind. I also feel great about encouraging small local businesses. Etsy has plenty of original gift ideas for the nurse in your life, from drinkware to jewelry. I always get tons of compliments when I wear my Etsy buys.  I know the nurses in your life will too!
This adorable Nurse Graduation Gift Package makes a perfect gift for any nurse graduate. This package features a nurse figurine, who holds a diploma and a silver colored medical caduceus. Also included in the gift package is a customized print with the name and photo of the nurse grad, and a set of four Florence Nightingale Nurse Notecards with a unique quotation on each.
Why are wanting to get this nurse a gift? They type of gift you purchase for them may be largely impacted by the reason for the gift. If you are buying a retirement gift for a nurse, then you might look for something like a nurse figurine, as a stethoscope would be pretty useless to a retired nurse. However, a stethoscope would be a perfect gift for a nurse graduate. Or maybe you’re a nursing student looking for the perfect gift for a nursing instructor. A thoughtful piece of nurse wall art to hang in their office or a cute nurse coffee mug would likely do the trick.
It seems like nurses have one of the most important jobs in the world and usually get half the credit they deserve!  This time of year is perfect to let that special nurse in your life know just how much you appreciate them, respect them, and are thankful for them.  Whether they’re newly graduated, a veteran in the medical industry, a male nurse (yes, they totally do exist so start showing some respect!), or you’re looking for a birthday gift perfect for the funniest registered nurse you know, we’ve got your back. From traditional to outside-the-box,  check out some of the best gifts for nurses (so far) in 2019.
Finding the right gift for any person (especially if they are nurses) is not as easy as we would like it to be. It often takes a lot of time and research in order to find the right present that other person will enjoy. This is especially true when it comes to buying a gift for nurses. Fortunately, there are plenty of great ideas that will make this gift season memorable for your nurse friend. That being said, let’s take a look at the list of the best 40+ nursing gift ideas you can buy for a nurse: ">
If you know they have a birthday, graduation, retirement, holiday or you share a professional relationship (in this case a traditional/common gift may be appropriate) such as a teacher/nursing instrucor or a labor/delivery nurse and you want to give them a good gift plan early and save yourself both the time and stress that comes with last minute shopping/gift giving.
Nurses are on their feet for hours at a time, so it’s understandable why so many of them are rather picky when it comes to finding shoes that are comfortable and good for their feet. Yet for some reason, many of them could care less what socks they wear. Compression socks have always been great for reducing soreness and swelling, but they haven’t always been the most stylish. That’s not the case with these fun, EKG-themed socks. This is a gift that not only looks good, but it will do wonders for their feet. They’ll definitely thank you for this one.

Nurses play an important part in many people’s lives. And that goes for family and friends, as well as for patients. The work that a nurse does is admirable, and they can always be relied on for compassion and respect. When it comes time for a nurse to retire there will be a lot of people queuing up to wish them all the best. Co-workers, current and former patients, as well as friends and family, will all want to mark the event in a special way.

Most underscrub tees are meant solely to give you an added layer of protection under your scrubs, but not this one. The Core One Underscrub Tee is as versatile as it is soft and comfortable, making this the perfect gift for the nurse who needs to seamlessly transition from the hospital, to the grocery store, and even to the gym. The buttery-soft performance fabric is lightweight and wicks away moisture, and the reinforced seams ensure that this gift will work as hard as nurses do.

For many years the newly retired nurse will have dedicated her life to caring for others. It’s about time she enjoyed a spot of pampering herself. Give her a gift voucher that can be exchanged for a massage, manicure, pedicure, or hair style. She could use it for a reflexology session, day at her local spa, Reiki session, or a makeover. If there are a few people that are willing to pool finances, you might be able to treat her to a weekend away.

Nurses love to show off their hard-earned work by using tags that say “LPN or RN, or Nurse.” Or you can get their name or something else on it. I’ve seen a lot of nurses with a personalized front tag. Some even have their license plates say something cute. You can also get nursing ornaments that hang from the rearview mirror. Just make sure the nurse is into that sort of thing first.
